I just traded in my 97 half ton for the 01 3/4 ton. When I traded in my half ton, the door hinges creaeked and groaned like nobody's business. What had happened was that the roller bushing that rides on the rocker cam wore out, causing the bushing to bind up, and therefore wear and creak... ... I noticed that on my new truck the same thing is starting to happen, I was always good on the last truck to make sure it was greased (I used spray white lithium) but it didn't seem to help, and it's not working on this one either. Any suggestions?

White Lithium doesn't work on these.

I have no idea why not, but it doesn't. Use motor oil. Try the spray grease after the oil has a chance to work in, it might migrate better then.

I've tried spray greases and motor oil with no luck. The best thing I have found is go to an auto parts store like Napa and get an injection needle for a grease gun, then pump grease between the bushing and the shaft it rotates on. also put a little grease on all the moving points on the door hinges. Open and close the door a lot while doing this to help work the grease in. I do this about once a year and it has solved my groaning/creacking hinge problems. It is easier and cheaper than replacing the door hinges.

Try using motorcycle chain lube for non o-ring chains. This stuff is very thin until the carrier evaporates and then it is a high pressure water resistant grease. This has been a favorite weapon in my spray can arsenal for years. It has worked on squeaky suspension bushings, car door hardware, and other things that needed greasing without taking them apart. Its really handy stuff.
