Bob,could it be that you only need to replace the hinge pins. Much easier. You will need someone strong enough to support the door while the other installs new pins.

thanks skydiver for the comeback. when i went to the dealer for the new hinge they said it wasn't a serviceable part & that i would have to buy a new hinge. the new hinge is an updated part. the new pin ends have been peened over. can i just get new pins & bushings? my original bushings(or sleeves) are worn out and the door is hanging crooked. Bob,I would go to a body shop and see if they can order new pins and bushings. Also I personally would see if they would install them. These doors are heavy. The job is possible if you get 1 or 2 people that are steady enough to get the hinge bracket holes perfectly lined up. Very awkard job.
As far as being an unserviceable part I have no knowledge about that. Try an automotive body shop.

I've replaced worn out hinges on other rigs by using a padded floor jack, or even the stock jack, under the open door, just do one hinge at a time. Don't sit in the seat while it is jacked, you can tweak the door. Pins and bushings are available at better junk yards everywhere, if they come apart. Remember that gassers and quite possibly 1/2 ton Rams will have the same hinges.

ok guys. thanks for the help. i bought a new hinge and it looks beefier in the pin area. i am going to install myself with alittle extra muscle. see ya
