Pull the door panels off. Then take some carb cleaner or brake cleaner. Spray the latch assy. The spray with some form of lube.

The orginal latchs were coated with a white lithum grease at the factory. With the age now. It is getting sticky and causing problems.

I had one latch hang while we went out to breakfast at SOP3. PTombs and MiDon had to climb out my drivers door. The passenger wouldn't open. :-laf

If you hve a door latch that won't release. A quick cure to get it open to work on it is to spray carb cleaner down threw the window opening to get it to release.

i was out on a date and the passenger door wouldnt open so she had to climb over darn she looked good so i wasnt bi#$ching. . but we pulled off the panals and spraed it with some lub.

I had a similar problem with my truck and spraying lubricant did not resolve the issue. I finally ended up purchasing a replacement latch mechanisim. . They are pricey litted devils!

Took 15 minutes to replace and works great.

One day my key wouldn't unlock the door completely, I fought it for a while making sure I completely turned the thing to unlock the door etc. I firgured it out when I couldn't start the truck one day, the key was so worn out it wasn't hitting the tumblers correctly (literally no teeth left on the key). Darn key wore out after only a 250K miles! Oh well I found the spare when I got it started and got home. Haven't had any lock problems since.

Hummmm. Am I the only one that knows about the plastic vent looking panel over the latch mechanism. That will come out and you can lube the latch and links without removing the door panels.
