2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Door Locks?

I'm curious... this truck locks its doors when ever it feels like it. Ghosts? Also dealer told me today that they can't disable the annoying horn honking when you open the driver side door while in reverse. Any ideas? #@$%!

If it's like my 01 the doors lock when you hit 10 mph. I think it's programmable, just read the book.

The doors lock at 15 mph. This is normal. This problem just started. If the truck sets for a couple hours the doors lock.

My thought is all the road salt this winter. My dad and I both have 02 CTDs and both of our trucks have had a simliar issue this winter. One would think that a ghost was sitting playing with the door locks. My truck would constantly lock and unlock until I pulled the fuse (10 amp for the pwr locks). This killed the overhead lights, power locks, heated seats etc as well but at least the door locks quit locking and unlocking. It started after the cold snap in Feb in Southern IN... as things started to warm we had the problems. Mine has quit after running up and down the rainy roads and hosing down the door to hopefully blast the salty residue out. Dad's didn't react as bad but still annoying. His has quit acting weird as well.

I have the same problem on my 2000. The door locks would just lock and unlock at will just cycling back and forth. I removed the window/lock switch and took it apart. Inside there was corrosion on the board shorting it. I cleaned with a brass bristle brush and some wd-40. Solved the problem for me. I still hope to replace with new switch because it self locked/unlocked once or twice over the last 9 months. Hope this helps
