I noticed a rip in the door molding about hood high where a point on the door has been catching it when the door is closing. The passenger side has a wear mark in the same spot. Has any one else had this problem? I'll let you know what the dealer says.

There is a TSB that talks about this and it is number 23-049-05 here basic text of it

Had mine replaced about 3 months ago.

The new molding is already ripped... . on both sides.

You should make sure they used the new style mouldings, they have indents for where the door hits it.

Silicone

I have a small can of spray silicone under the back seat and spray about an inch of the seal on each door about once a month and it allows the door to slide right over it... The minor nick in the driver's door hasn't gotten any bigger and no mark on the other side. .

Is it just me or do the doors on 03-06 trucks seem to be a little "out of adjustment"? My seals are in perfect shape, but I am still known to have loud wind noise at certain angles and wind dirctions/speeds. As I stand in front of my truck it appears that at the top of the door, where the windshield meets the roof, the door is flush, and at the bottom, where the door meets the area where the registration and inspection stickers are, it seems to be as much as 3/4 or 1 inch out of alignment. Is this something the dealers mechanics can adjust? Are your trucks the same?

It's unfortunate, I remember when the 94's came out, that was one of the big selling points, the quietness of the ride. Here we are more than a decade later and DC seems to have forgotten that "little" selling point. I remember my 98, had a decently quiet ride. Now my 84 on the other hand...
