I've notice a strange sound coming from the drivers door on my '01. At first I thought it was the door flexing on the weatherstrip. I adjusted the door latch. When that is adjusted so the door it tight, there is no noise. However, when it is tight the door is hard to close and latch. Anyone had a similar noise. It doesn't appear to be "rough road" related. More of a gentle flexing during interstate driving but it's driving me crazy. It will be next week before I can get to the dealer.

My whole cab seems to flex and squeak. It drives me nuts. I hope it is the body bushings that have not gotten worn in yet.

I hear sort of a sqeaky/creaky kind of noise around my doors when pulling into a driveway or any scenario of uneven surfaces putting a twisting force on the frame.

When you have the door open, you will find that by pushing in and rubbing on the weatherstrip around the door frame, it will sort of sqeak. It barely takes any movement for it to make noise. Multiply this by the whole section of weatherstrip around all the doors and you can see why you are hearing things. A couple of times I've stuck my finger in the upper rear corner of the door where it meets the sill and driven over a very uneven surface. You can slightly feel the cab flex but only 1-2 millimeters at most, which is enough to make noise. I don't think our trucks have weak frames and flex easily, the problem is cheap weatherstripping. I thought about using a small syringe & needle with a little lube to shoot up the weatherstripping (not my veins #ad
) in hopes to shut it up.

On the quad doors, there is also a plastic slider on the bottom edge of the door--if this gets dirt in its track, the quad doors creak. A good blast of cleaner followed by some lube will shush that noise up.

take a rag and spray some silicone lube on it. then wipe down the weather stripping around all the doors. this should help. It worked for me on other vehicles

I had the same problem. I did find the problem!!!! At the bottom of the Quad door their is a small black plastic piece, it slides back and forth when the door is opened and closed. Push it by hand while applying pressure, it should squeek. lube it up good, it worked for me

Mine to ,it also was driving me nuts. Thanks Mike for the suggestion I,ll try that in the morning . Iwas just dreading taking the truck in to be told thats normal,or I dont hear anything,or turn your your stereo up or some such bs.

sdalton's recommendation has always worked for me,in fact my '95 service manual lists using silicone on the weather strips as periodic maintenance.
