Well, like the subject line says.

How do I remove the door panel so I can gain access to my passenger front door speakers? Is it similar to removing the dash?

The speaker in the passenger door started cutting in and out a week or two ago, and then the tweeter stopped working (all other speakers work normal).

Anybody have a similar problem?

I called a Car Audio store here in town and they told me they won't touch factory installed systems, and to take it to the dealer. I nearly fell over!

I will be trying to take the door cover off this afternoon, in hope that *I* can repair the speaker(s). Hopefully, and what it sounded like, is one or two of the speaker wire inputs came loose off of the speaker and made both speakers quit working.

Use either a door trim removal tool or get a large flat bar like that used in construction. You've got to pry the panel off- it is held on be about a dozen or so plastic body clips. Oh yeah, remove the screws that hold the door(dust collector) pull. I found it easier to remove the bottom and work your way up. Some of the little plastic buggers are bound to break, and some will stick in the door. Make sure you've got some replacements ready. The speaker is screwed into the door and you'll be able to easily access it. Good luck. :)

Don't know which radio you have but I have the one with the CD, Tape. And I was sure impressed with the speakers. I also think you'll be impressed with the steel Dodge used in the door. I've not seen anything like it.

get the tool, its about $8. 00 made by Lisle, looks like a screw driver with a nail puller on the end works real good

Just removed the passenger door panel on my '00 yesterday to install a set of X-Mount towing mirrors. Piece of cake - use the nail puller screwdriver tool and you'll have it off in about 5 minutes. Remove the screw up by the mirror, remove the pull cup thingy and work your way around from the mirror. I was able to reuse all the xmas tree clips.

WooHoo

All right, Thanks a bunch guys, yall are the greatest.

I didn't have time to do the speaker thing last night, so hopefully, armed with this advice, I'll get it done tonight.

The plastic clips pack of ten 4. 00 $ clips needed 13 Ron in Louisville KY:)

You can probably get replacement clips at the autoparts store. The store near me sells blister packs of various door clips, etc. I think they are tha Pic-A-Nut brand. Sometimes they don't have the exact same one that I need, but there's usually something that will work, in the selection.
