2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Door rust revisited

Checked out my dads 01 this weekend, an there was a small amount of rust along the bottom lap weld. I was shocked to see this on this new of a truck. all of the drain plugs, were still in, but it looks as if even if they were removed, they arent at the lowest point, and water would still stand a 1/4 in deep. , until it ran to the end drains. This particular rust issue seem s to be with the metal lap,( at very bottom) and not drain plug related. What is chryslers rust warranty, the truck has 42000 miles on it, and he is the second owner?

Took my 99 in for a similar problem and was told the warranty was for rust through. No hole No warranty. Hope you have better luck... ... . Yeah I thought about turning the dealership into a drive thru but decided I would just live with it.

Kinda like a real pretty girlfriend that starts getting fat after dating for a while but now you actually like her so you let it ride!

I would suggest spraying oil inside the doors - as well as under the whole truck - once a year in the fall when it's dry out. Cheap insurance for rust.
