Door Seal Gaskets

All - I've seen the previous threads about the gaskets, know about the TSB. My truck is 3 months old and already the driver's side has a finger sized hole in it.



Took it to the dealer this am. Was told that the gaskets are on national backorder and they couldn't tell me when they would be available. Not sure if he was telling the truth, or, didn't want to be bothered.



Is this true? Has anyone had this fix recently done?



If Dodge can't properly design a door gasket, makes me a little nervous about what else might go wrong.

I go in Monday to have mine done. they had to order the part, it has been in for a week. I just haven't had the time.

Took my '04. 5 in, ordered the seals and they wer installed 2 day's later..... took about 1/2 an hour.

Are these the new design of gasket? Do they still rub?

I had mine replaced last week. They must be a new design as they hardly even touch the door when I open or close it.

Any problems with '05's or is the new revised gasket being used?

After reading about the seals, I checked mine. I purchased my truck July 1 and the drivers side is already torn. I called my dealer and they haven't heard about this one yet. I will take mine in tomorrow and see what they say.

I had my 05 for 1 month and mine is already starting to tear,Must not be a new design!!!

I called my dealer on monday 2 weeks ago to ask about the gasket they said they would fix it so I went back on friday no questions asked no charge also gave me a free oil change for driving to the dealership in Sealy Texas

My seals on my 03 are just fine.



I'm wondering if D/C made one of their money saving changes after 03.

I had the new gasket installed about a month and a half ago. Everything looks good so far. The door rubbed the original gasket pretty badly. The new gasket is positioned so that the corner of the door no longer rubs the gasket at all. I'm happy with the fix on this one.

Several on here with 03's have had theirs done, and mine needs it, so. . yes, the 03's have the problem. .
