I had the door seals replaced shortly after getting the truck. I didn't even know I had the problem until I read it here. The new ones went bad in a short time. I am waiting for a call from my dealer when a improvement comes out. It has been a year so they may not have one yet??? Have a great day.
Had the new upgraded seals installed by my Dodge dealer yesterday. It took several days to get them in. My truck is a 04. 5 and the seals are relieved where the old ones rubbed previously. The warranty manager at our Dodge took pictures of both sides that were ripped. Only one day here so I cannot say how they will last. Only about a 10 to 15 minute job. No hassle in getting them replaced. The # of the new seal replacement is, 55277188AB & 55277198AB (2) L&R
The new seals with the flat fronts work great. I was told they are an 05 part number. I put them on in the dealer parking lot, took 5 mins. Just pull the old ones off and slide the new ones on. Went through two set of the old style, the new ones dont even touch the doors when closing and opening.
My Dodge dealer must be behind the times! Thanks for the part numbers! I will see if they will replace them with the new part numbers on my 03. Ken Irwin
My dealer had replaced mine with the thinner seals. They aren't worth a dime. He ordered the new part numbers Monday and just called to let me know they are in. They newer P/N ends in AB. They have the flattened portion where the door meets the A pillar.
