Door Sill Plates

Does anyone know where I can buy a new set? I'm talking about the aluminum plates that attach the edge of the carpet. Mine have been eaten up a bit, by road salt being tracked in I guess. Hope to have some new rockers in place soon and would like to replace these too.



Is there a company that specializes in accessories for first gens? Doesn't seem to be much out there for the older ones.

I'm guessing those are probably a dealer item. Call the local stealer and see if they can still get them. If I'm wrong, then lets hear it from someone that has purchased some as aftermarket.

You can get new ones from the dealer dirt cheap, only worth about $12cdn.

Finally got to the local Dodge dealer to check on these. They wanted $32 each. I told the parts guy they weren't worth that much to me. If anyone has come across a better deal, please let me know.

Can you take off one of your existing plates and have someone make a new set? Maybe a welding shop or something?

Someone on ebay is making and selling stainless steel ones for about $35/pair. Pictures look good. If interested do a search on "89-'93 Dodge Ram" or just "Dodge Ram" if the first doesn't work.

Mike, I could make my own, but I want to keep the stock look to it. Trying to get the few little things fixed up on my second best friend (wife being the first of course). The new rocker panels should be in soon to get rid of the rust. With those and some new sill plates, she'll be back in shape looks-wise.



Bob, I couldn't find the auction, but did check that site, and that looks pretty interesting. SS would sure be better than aluminum for durability. I think I might go with those. Who would have thought a guy could have a business where he specializes in door sill plates?? Only on the 'net...
