Archived Doors unlock by themselves!

Well, this is the latest of the symptoms! Started with auto lock feature not working at 15 mph, but clicking noise like trying to lock, then interior lights came on by them selves and doors started unlocking as truck just sat there! This was after using remote lock device, sometimes the lights just turned on and off while truck unlocked an un attended! Next auto door locking feature started working after 15 mph but if you rolled down window, doors would unlock! Latest is doors lock with 15 mph feature but maybe 30 seconds later, the time varies, they automaticlly unlock! Posted this in 2nd Gen but no body replied, am I the only 2002 2500 2WD TD full power, keyless entry that has had this happen? Dealer has started out with what they think but that has changed twice and they have not replaced a single item! Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks. TL

Our Murano was doing that. First it was a connector problem. They fixed that, and then found that there was a software problem. Except ours was backwards from yours. My wife would get out of the car at the house and the car would lock itself.



Then it happened at a gas station with her keys in the ignition. Fortunately, the drivers door was open. She heard the locks active and sure enough, it had locked itself. Don't know what the dealer had to do to repair it, but they said it was a pretty simple fix.

problems like this sometimes happen because of water getting in switches and connectors. possible ?

I did a few things and it hasnt done it sence



#1 Diable Auto lock at Certain MPH There is a procedure Do a search for Disableing Auto Locks " You turn the key on and off like 3 times and push un lock ... ... ... " itll sound something like that I forget the procedure exacty



#2 HAVE YOU REMOVED THE DOOR SKIN LATELY ... ... ... ... . It seemed my skin was screwing with the lock... ... ... . thingy the acual thing that goes up and down by the window if the doors attemp to unlock and the skin is touching the thingy it dont think its unlocked and it will keep trying to unlock and lock just to get its barrings I kept repossitoning the skin till it looked clear around the thingy



#3 Fresh batteries in the remote



The reason the lights are coming on is because the doors are locking and unlocking



I had started my truck and walked away when I returned the doors was locked ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . I did a little Cummins dance and they unlocked I quicky opened the door ... . WHEW

Had this kind of problem with door locks in addition to engine stopping on an Oldsmoblie Aurora. Dealer worked on it over a period of about 2yrs.



Finally an old time mechanic said to replace the ignition switch (remember its gasoline powered) and the problem was/is nonexistant from there on.



The Switch is the one common element to all these symptoms the way I see it.

This might sound funny but I had a similar problem with my 01. .

Had someone broke into it and I had the lock replaced. I would lock even when it was unlocked, it would then lock. . I used the master key into the drivers door and manually unlock and lock the door. This reset something and the problem was gone. Try this. . if all else fails, remember what Richie told the Fonz, "did you check the tire presser"

Door Locks/unlocks/lights on/off, etc.

Hey thanks to all who replied, I tried the master key in the drivers door and a read indicator light flashed in the overhead console and the dome lights came on and now things seem to be correct again! Turned the key to lock and unlock door 3 times at least. Now the bad news; dealer charged me $40. 00 to tell me I need a key lock replaced, $80. 00 or maybe some type of computer module, way more bucks. They had to order the 80 dollar lock and have never called to set up an appointement for me. . sounds a little fishy, think I'll find a new dealer. . Later Tom

Do you have one of the "grey" chip keys. My 05 has the electronic key (according to the dealer). The other day, I got out, locked the truck and when I unlocked and got back in, the windows wouldn't work. I had to shut the truck off and restart to straighten every thing out. It's part of the anti theft package. The dealer cut me an emergency key that's black. He said it wouldn't start the truck, only unlock the doors. Too much crap to tear up.
