I bought a new aftermarket Dorman steering shaft the lower joint already has a lot of play with only about 5000 miles on it anyone else have any problems with theirs? I guess I’ll have to order a boergeson and use some red loctite

I have heard that in order for the boergeson to fit on a 2nd gen you have to shave/flatten a few teeth on the input shaft of the steering gear box for it to fit.

Nice and great to know. I replaced my OEM gear box with a red head gear box as well as replaced the bearing in the steering column with a “Rock Solid Ram Truck Steering” upgrade kit and unfortunately I still have the slack in my steering (about 1-2” of slack).
