time to bleed the brakes again, and am wondering if the 5. 1 brake fluid that Geno's Garage sells is recomended? anyone know? or is anyone using it?

Thanks Ken

I have some but have not used it yet. Waiting for warm weather to get here so I can replace all of the fluid in the system. I have been using valvoline's synpower but thought I would give this stuff a try. The boiling points are higher than the Synpower. If I recall 5. 1's claim to fame is higher dry and wet boiling points compared to 3 or 4. You get the boiling points of dot 5 but without the silicone based fluid and its inherent issues. The chart below comes from this link

StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades

The boiling points

DOT 3 DOT 4 DOT 5

Dry BP (F)@ 0. 0% H2O 401 446 509

Wet BP (F)@ 3. 7% H2O 284 311 356

Chemical Composition (3)Glycol Ether (4)Glycol Ether /Borate Ester (5)Silicone Based

The AP RACING Formula DOT 5. 1 that Genos sells has boiling points of 527 and 363 according to this website
