I need to get a pillar replacement installed soon. I have boost and EGT gauges, but I'm tired of looking at them kinda' flopping around the cab. :) Every pillar replacement that I have seen looks a little cheezy, and doesn't match the color. So far I gather that I can get the matching Agate paint from dodge, so now I need to know who makes the nicest one. I dont reall care if I need to replace the old one, or just cover it. However, I would like the install to look nice. I know that several manufacturers are selling them, but I trust you all to tell me who makes the nicest one.

Thanks

BTW I do have the tweeter,

Its an easy desicion, they are ALL made by the same company, so they are all the same. Jannetty, Banks, etc are all using the same one Autometer sells. If you paint it you will like it, its not that bad. You dont really notice the plastic is a little different.

EMD is right they are all made by autometer. The Agate spray paint that you get from the dealer :(

Is actually a very good match color wise. The only problem is the mounts themselves are not quite the same texture. The grain is a little different. however after you get it painted and tucked up on the piller it really does look good. dont be afraid to try it, it will be fine. Good Luck and send pictures when you're done. Gunny

Do you have to remove the old pillar to install the new one. I don't mind clamping, taping, but I am a little hesitant of drilling. How do they work?

You are supposed to remove the old one, but you dont have to. The gauge pillar is supposed to go over the stock one and attatch with a few plastic fasteners. Its not the most secure way to mount it considering the weight of the gauges. I used one screw at the top into the steel "A" pillar and now it wont go anywhere. Just play with it on the truck and find out what you want to do with it. Either way, its not hard to install.

I really appreciate all of your input. It's pretty nice to have our own R&D department available 24hrs a day! One last question... Who sells it at the best price?
