In went Piers' 3k spring kit, in went Piers' 370s. First time for me to be that "deep" in the motor. Everything went fine thanks to some really great how-to posts from experienced TDR members before I launched. For a desk jockey, I'm kinda proud of myself. Thank you all who helped me.



Quite a change in low end response with no smoke. Around 3000 rpm WOT will smoke but not too bad. I probably wouldn't punch it with someone behind me. No problem with EGTs. Governor mod is really cool. Like everyone else says, gotta getcha one. I haven't tried towing yet.



Maybe Piers HX40 will be next and a BHAF. Any recommendations?

I was curious did you replace the delivery valves? no stumbles?

if not whats the pump timing set at? and what plate do you have?

If your gonna tow, how much weight?

BHAF definately. Easy & cheap. What is your pre-turbo EGT now? If you're not running into EGT problems, I don't know if there is a reason to go to the HX40.
 
Pthomas, I have a 230hp plate. No stumble; really takes off right off the bottom end, but I don't have the original pump. I pull a gooseneck with boulders at about 15k for my landscaping project. Theres a very steep grade I go up in third. That'll test my EGTs. I think I'd like more boost, though, to burn the fuel going out my exhaust. That's why I was thinking opening up the air flow or going to the HX40. Also, I'm expecting to have to stay off the pedal when towing.

I got a feeling you will be testing your clutch now too. #370s and a plate should just about eliminate the stock clutch.
