Down On Power

It seems like my '93 is down on power. Symptoms, max boost 15 PSI, more black smoke, and somewhat poorer acceleration than I expect.



It has a fresh air filter, stock original fuel pump, and I've visually inspected the intake plumbing to look for leaks, I have not replaced the fuel filter yet.



Thoughts?

Does the smoke stink? Not normal diesel smell? If so, could be an air leak in the fuel suction line. Change the fuel filter first. If that doesn't do it, make an adapter and check your I/C for leaks.
