I'd like to download MP3 music, but it seems every site I've looked at, except Walmart, wants you to sign up for a monthly membership. I'm not a kid downloading tons of music all the time; just a few songs now and then. It would be cheaper to just buy the CDs than pay a monthly charge. Although Walmart doesn't require a monthly subsciption, their selection sucks, so they are not an option. Does anyonyone know of any sites where you can download one song at a time occasionally and not pay a monthly fee?

the only problem with using an itunes, napster, sonicstage, and others like that. Is even though you pay a $1 a song, you never own the song, because they can track your song. And only allow you to transfer/copy the song so many times, usually 5 times. If your like me, I copy songs to and from my mp3 player on a fairly regular basis. And doing that you can run through your alloted transfers pretty quickly.

Can't you burn them to a CD and transfer them as much as you want?

i use to use limewire, and sometimes still do, but most of the time now i get stuff off torrent clients. . you can get lots of stuff out there. . i have gotten entire albums from torrents and you can find for some artists entire discography there too... . yeah, downloading is wrong

uTorrent is a good small program for downloading & uploading torrents [not good to be a leach]

still trying to get a demonoid invite code though :(...

I knew a guy that used the Torrent method for a while, until it started recieving some unwanted attention. I've heard the newsgroups are still a pretty good place to, um, evaluate music/DVDs you intend to buy.

I personally use Limewire and used to have an occasional issue. But when i bought the new laptop i decided to get overboard on spyware and adware programs and for the last 6 mos i have no problems.
