Hi y'all, I'm not really new to Cummins diesels or this forum. But it's been awhile since I've been here and don't have my old account info. I am however new to DPFs and EGR where diesel motors are concerned. I sold my old trusty 98.5 24V last November and bought a 2012 with 20K miles on it. But not having any experience with the EGR or DPF, just wondering if anyone's been having any unexpected problems with them and what kind of life expectancy I should expect out of the DPF. I understand that it can vary a lot with driving conditions but just in general. So far I've had it about 5 months and it hasn't gone through a regen yet. Most of my driving is highway to and from work, 20 miles each way. Also has anyone had or heard of any intake problems beyond the suggested maintenance due to carbon or suit build up from the EGR. I really don't like the idea of sucking exhaust from a diesel back into the intake but I don't plan on doing any modifications, at least not until after the warranty period is up. Also, anything other unrelated problems that may be known issues with this model year. My last truck was the infamous injector pump, solved once I upgraded the lift pump. Seems like there's always something. Anyway, any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
