I finally got my DPP pump installed

It took me a total of two and half hours, and that with no help, and some time figuring out the connections, etc

It could be done in one hour by a diesel shop I bet

So far the results are that level 5/4 on TST feels like 6/5 before the DPP pump

I am very pleased with the pump, and with the truck running, it is not that loud at all, and when cruising, I can't hear it over the exhaust

Looks good Tom.

Has anyone been able to verify whether the extra pressure from an aftermarket lift pump affects the CP3 in any negative way? I know these things make the truck run better, but that might not be a wise tradeoff if it damages the CP3.

If I see that right it's mounted outside the frame rail to the cross support of the bed right above the front leaf spring mount on the driver side. I've already filled that space :{ I may have to do a little re-engineering ;)

Did you use the 95 or 150 gph pump and did you leave the stock pump in place?

I used the 95 gph pump, and the stock LP is disconnected ... . I left in on the truck for now, but it is zip-tied up and out of the way from harm

That is the cool part, I bet I could get back to stock with-in 20 minutes

You are correct, outside of the frame rail, drivers side (obviously), and JUST behind the cab under the bed

Tomeygun / RTillery, with our names, are you sure we're talking trucks?

I am waiting on my fuel pressure gauge and as soon as it is in, I am going to do the FASS pump like yours. I got to meet Brad at the ATS get together and he seems like a sincere person building a good product.

My question is: did everything you need come in the kit? I have heard guys talking about putting a swivel fitting on the pump. Do you feel that is necessary?

Thanks for all your posts on here. I feel like you help provide the "inside" scoop on what's coming down the road on our trucks.

Not really, It might make the install better because you can more accuratly follow the factory fuel line routing... . But I just crossed over the rail a few feet away from the pump... .

I may re-route it when I get a free moment, But its not too big of a deal to me

I am glad I can help... this is the best place to share info, thats for sure

Everything is there.

You will need tools, some zip ties and teflon tape.

One thing about the install though

I had to run to Lowes to get longer bolts to bolt the bracket to the brace under the bed --- I called DPP and let them know, Its not that big of deal, But the lady said she had a few people call about the too-short bolts

But most all kits should have the correct bolts - Just an FYI

How did you plumb into the stock fuel tank?

-Ryan

The kit came with the "quick-connect" that snaps on the factory pickup line, So you just snap off the factory one and snap on the one in the kit (you should have aleady attached the fuel line and little aux filter to it)

Although, with the larger 150 gph pump, a larger pick-up will be needed

Did you have to drop the tank?

-Ryan

Nope, I could reach it from either way, From the fender well (better sight line) -- Or from under the truck (around the tank, reaching blind)

But it was quite a booger to get the stock line off...

Hmmm... a lot of people report problems removing the "quick" disconnect at the tank.

Maybe a Summit part number SUM-W89330, fuel line disconnect tool kit, would be a good investment...

-Ryan :)

Your not kidding!!! -- I have a couple bloody nuckles, and a few curse words memorized perfectly after trying to remove that "not-so-quick" thingy

Once you figure out where the tabs are that you need to depress the factory line comes off fast. Once I figured it out all it took was finger power to press the tabs. At first I was pressing on the wrong spot. I did it from the driver's side of the truck.

You're so right Ryan ! The fuel line came right off, but the return was turned to where you couldn't get your fingers on one of the tabs. I would have given$100 for that tool at that time.

Hope ya'll have better luck than I have, I'm on my third pump first one didn't work out of the box, then the second one lasted about a month and a half with good pressure 19psi at idle and 15psi at wot on 5x5 with all mods, but it got terribly loud and actually seemed to gain 2psi pressure to 21 or so sometimes, now the third one is quiet again but it idles at 16psi and drops to 10psi at wot on 5x5, but I'll be fine with that if it lasts. Haven't been able to talk to Brad in person he just keeps refering me back to the person who sold it to me and he's new to the product and he doesn't know what to think.

Did you use the 150 gph or the 95? I used the 150 gph with filter and seperator on my 04. 5 and have nothing but problems, want's to keep running when coming to a stop, engine will then run rough and injectors are loud but will settle doun and idle normal.

Erratic idle when coming to a stop with an 04. 5 is not a FASS problem.

I had that before I ever installed the FASS on my 04. 5
