"DR" designation

I have an '03 2500 & am trying to catch up on the basics of CTD stuff. I see this refence to the DR type of truck. What is this?

IIRC, it is the body style. The 2nd gen trucks we BE or BR. I think the BE are 2wd, and the BR are 4x4.



The 1st gens were either D or W. D= 2wd and W=4x4.



Could be all wet, but I'm sure some one will correct me, if I am.

I'm probably all wet, but I just thought "DR" stood for "Dodge Ram".

DR is DCX's program (code) name for 3rd generation production.

Rock's correct. It's an internal DCX code. DR started sometime around 98. 5 year, I belive. 3rd gen heavy duty are actually DH.

BR and BE are the body codes for the second generation regular cab and quad cab pick-ups.



DR and DE are the same, but for third generation.
