Hey I heard that Dr. Performance finally went bankrupt. Did anyone alse hear that? I sure feel sorry for anyone who got suckered into buying his products. I've said it before and I'll say it again... overfueling is the wrong way to go. Maybe BD, Edge and Bullydog will take notice before they go the way of the DoDo bird as well. I wonder how long BD can survive now that Banks has introduced a QUALITY brake to the market. Any thoughts?

I'd have to disagree with you Naven... . Overfueling was NOT Dr. Performance's problem. They deceived the unsuspecting public by misrepresenting and flat out lying about their products and their performance gains!

I hadn't heard anything about them going out of business. How did you find out that they were?

DR P store

If they did go out then their store here in Wilsonville, OR is still open for fun and not business.

Naven, you're new here, judging by the number of posts shown, 10, and your comments about overfueling being the wrong way to go. Here on the TDR, there are many experienced diesel technicians, mechanics, and engineers that understand diesel engines, and Cummins in particular. "overfueling" is not a problem.

I take exception to your comments lumping BD, Edge, and Bullydog into the same class as Dr. P. Especially Edge Products. That is a mortal insult, in my book. The boys at Edge are fine, honorable people, and great fun to hang out with. They use their own products on their own trucks, the same stuff we put on ours. Edge would NEVER , I repeat, NEVER engage in false and inflated advertising, like Dr. Performance does. I dare say, we couldn't all be fools, don't you think, "overfueling" our $40,000 trucks that we work hard to pay for? No, we're not. We read the TDR, consult outside sources, share our information with each other, and make educated decisions concerning our trucks' performance.

You would do well to withhold such inflammatory opinions until such time as you have read the TDR more thoroughly, and availed yourself of mechanical experience outside the scope of this website and it's numerous affiliations.

Well said Briar Hopper. Unfortunately when we see a post start off with "I hear... . " it usually is "light" on the facts, and usually just trolling for attention.

Enough said...

A quality brake that adds horsepower!

How many horsepower does the Banks window sticker add?

Well said Tom!!

Naven:

I agree with everything "Briar Hopper" has told

you. And I don't agree that "overfueling is not the way

to go" either!! Because I can tell you "beyond a shadow

of a doubt" that I am DEFINITELY OVERFUELED in my

truck and I love it! But,... ... I know the work done

on my pump to get me there was done by a very

knowledgable shop who is "certified" to do that

type of work and they are good at it and back

up what they do. That is also true of the

vendors you listed. Like Briar Hopper, I don't

consider "Dr P. " to be in their category.

Believe me, the Dodge CTD trucks are "under-

fueled" from the factory and NOT NEAR as fun

to drive as mine is!

Oh wait Joesoot - I think I get it. I've made a horrible mistake overfueling my truck with the Edge box, so if I take that OFF, and put a quality Banks brake ON, then I'll be faster than Dr. Performance.

Hey Naven... . We don't need uniformed derogatory comments here.

I'll bet you have never seen a BD brake up close. Don't spout off about what you don't know... There are plenty a folk here that would love to converse with you on a technical level. But this no way to start your short stint as a TDR member...

Is that right, Bob? naive Naven has connections to Banks? Well, like Joe Soot points out, Banks inflates their advertising, though probably nowhere near as much as Dr. Performance.

Let me emphasize here: We, the members of the TDR, are not fools, and do not like seeing others in the diesel community succumb to deceptive business practices and and falsely inflated advertising full of ridiculous claims. Caveat Emptor !

Banks does have good products, and I like them, but their questionable advertising leaves a bad taste in my mouth. One step away from fraud, is what that kind of advertising is. Like seeing your friends or family get defrauded? I don't. And I'll run my mouth, typing fingers, fists, and attorney about it if I have to.

You guys do a search on Mr. Johnson and you'll see that all of them are in Backs related posts and defend Banks.

Tell ya what, come to Texas and show us how your underfueled truck, that is if you actually own one, stacks up to my overfueled truck. I'll even leave the slipping clutch in there. After that we'll compare sales receipts.

Guys,

Take it easy on naven, he's just a green horn and someday will probably grow up to be like the rest of us.

I appolagise for my statement if it offended you naven but I was just haveing fun with a green horn. I was there at one point in time myself and by no means do I mean I know everything yet, at least I hope not or whats the point in liveing. :D ;)

posting tips:

Most people take offense to things unless you can back them up with facts unless they are just your opinion IMO.

Overfueling?

So when you add the Banks PowerPack, you don't consider that "overfueling"? Its over stock levels, therefore its overfueling.

Thanks for the chuckle.

naven

i forgot to mention that was with a 4" remote bd brake.

chuck
