While researching some stuff for another thread I saw that Dr. P has an upgrade for the Duramax already. For a measly  $3995 you can get a whopping 60+ HP and 140 ft/lbs of torque over stock or you could go the wizbang route and for $5395 you can get 100-120+hp and 220 ft/lbs!! On the other hand you could spend $1995 and get 70 hp and 150 ft/lbs, $2495 and get 100hp and 200 ft/lbs, or $3995 for 150 hp and 350 ft/lbs on a Dodge! Looks like the Dmax is going to be more expensive to BOMB big time - like DOUBLE!!

P. S. I'm not endorsing Dr. P's products here - have no experience with them. Just an interesting comparison in upgrade costs from one vendor!

Don'tcha just love it when the boss blasts away!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go Steve... ... ... ..... by the way, hows the new travel trailer???

If there are people out there that will spend 40K for a pickup, anything is possible.

What is worse... spending 40K for a pickup, and then getting blown away by a Cummins Ram with $1000. 00 in mods, or spending another $5000. 00 to keep up??

And how many of them are Cummins owners? I'm sure we have more than a few guys that paid that much for the truck and then dumped even more $$$$ into it.....

That's me

except I didn't pay 40K for my truck, I paid 32K and I have about 3K worth of goodies invested in it. I plan on keeping it a long time. I take care of it and it will take care of me. And I'm just about done BOMBing, regardless of what my wife and neighbors say. :D

Serenity has no cost!

Because mine came from the dealer with a utility bed it was just under $40k. Imagine my surprise when the much touted Cummins only gave me 10. 5 MPG and seemingly lousy power:(

Then I found the TDR. Now I know I can unlock the potential of this motor. $3,500 in mods carried over the life of the truck and my peace and happiness while driving seem a small price to pay. Besides getting to the job site quicker actually makes me money:D :D :D Bombs away!!!

Let's see... a TST #5 plate gave me a 90hp and 255 lbs torque increase for $300. Isuzu - CTD, Isuzu - CTD, nay, I'll keep my old CTD, thank you.

I paid 45k for mine and now have over 53k invested now. And none is in performance mods. I still have stock exhaust, filters, and auto trans is stock. Sure a lot of people can outrun and outpull me. But my truck is built to what I need, just like you build yours for what you need or want. Stock is fine for how I drive, no pulling large loads or raceing.

Back in 86 I bought a Honda CRX that had $12,000 in mods done to it. A performance turbo 2. 0 motor, custom built trans. and suspension, and a ground effect kit. 0-60 in under 4 sec. Redline at 9500, 1st gear redline at 50 mph. It does not matter the cost, if it is what that person wants. Image everyone driving in a truck just like HVAC, his truck would not be special then.

It is nice to know that our trucks are less expensive to bomb. That would make it nice if I ever gotten bit by the bombing bug. I hear it is worse than being bitten by the gold bug. Heck if I ever rode in a bombed Cummins I would be bombing mine too.

;) What I would like to do is go to one of the Bomb sections that the NW bombers put on and see a bombed truck and just see what all this talk is about.

While We're at it...

Got a flyer from a vendor a while back, couldn't help but notice how much less We have to pay for injectors than brand "F", they don't BOMB cheap either.

Probably won't be long for us to pay $$$$ for injectors... soon as that common rail fuel system comes out. Think I'm gonna keep my '99 for quite some time.

hehe, I dont mind, because It will be in the rear view mirror. :p JK... ... ... ... Looks like I may need to add a few more goodies to keep up with you.
