Southern Trucks TDR

Well, today sucked. When I got up this morning it was raining. Got to the track and waited for the track to dry up. About noon they started running cars. I was 2nd in line waiting and some old Dart blew somthing and dumped oil all over the track... announcer said it would be a little while til it's cleaned up. After about 15 min later it started drizzling again, then all of a sudden the sky open up on us. Result- racing cancelled due to rain-out.

We'll be back there tomorrow, but it's going to open to all brands... so there's going to be alot more racers. Oh well.

BTW, only three Dodge diesels showed up to run.

I was there, but as I got there late, I decided not to try and run. I figured the rain would delay things really bad (it did) and I knew that I could not go back out on Sunday. SIR's policy on rain outs pretty much stinks (no refunds, but you can come back and run tomorrow. ) Yippee. I would have liked to see MikeR and Stefan run down the track. Oh well. I wonder what SIR's policies are with regards to clubs. Maybe we could get the track to ourselves for a NW BOMBer event? I guess anything is possible for the right amount of dead Franklins... ... ... .

Rain ? In Seattle??? It was 100% sunny and about 90F here in Pasco today (first day it has been less than mid 90s all week!) . . . too bad there isn't a race track out here in the desert where rain is a rarity :(

Bill K . Stefan And I waited til the end and Mopar s will run in their own class and ET racing will follow.

Darn! As I am working this weekend (all three days) and have been working pretty hard around the farm lately, I slept in late yesterday. I guess what they say is true, if ya snooze, ya loose... :( The bite of it is, my wife and I have plans for today too (after I get some sleep).

PS: sorry Mike but... Stefan will kick your butt (did you see the tires he's going to run? not to mention the super mental injectors or auto. trans. )

Have fun guys! :D

Yeah,I know Stefan will kick my butt... I went racing with him before. He's running slicks, more power and the auto trans. Not to mention he's a well seasoned veteran at the racing game.

Besides,Stefan and I are running in different classes. Stefan is in the money class and I'm in the trophy class. We won't be on the track at the same time.

Hey Mike!

Hey Mike, I'm not really sure about Stefan having more power though. What can you do... just give it your best shot and have fun! :)

I only ran twice because I red-lighted(too eager with the reaction time reflexes). Got 15. 7 at 91mph. I'm getting better at this, but sure need more practice.

There was another customer of Bill's that was there running a 01 4x4 QC/SB auto. Something seemed wrong because he was somewhere in the 18's and couldn't get over 80mph.

Stefan did good, but I'll let him post his results.

Went faster

Sorry to take so long on reporting my results.

I was racing our dodge this weekend and it ran really strong and very consistant. The quickest that I ran was 13. 78 @ 96. 28mph. The only problem with that was the class that I was racing in was only for vehicals running 14 seconds and slower. So I had to dial in at 14. 00 and use the breaks. Well I had a pretty good day and went to the final round were I lost due to excessive tire spin. I had a much better reaction time but it didn't matter. I did take out a couple mustangs, and a camaro, a chevy pick-up, and two old chevy's.

My dad was also racing in our ford and he made it to the final 8. were he lost due the truck not running the number. Our ford manage to run a 15. 98@87mph.

I still blame my dad for my loss, cause as I look at it if the TC wasn't transfering the power, I wouldn't have a traction problem.

Remember I'm still running straight #2 and in a 4x4.

wow , thats a serious MPH , times look good , raised the bar to where i can't reach it without slicks .

edit ... dopey me , i looked up after posting and there is the HP mofds and TC spec . maybe you need to put in a milled stator tc to help with your traction problem :p :p

as far as that guy running 18's , if he was running that bad a time i could see him not going over 80 mph , when i was in the 18's , very brief as it was :p , i had a trap speed of 73. 7 mph

may be at the track next weekend , mounting the slicks up this weekend , i can't hold out any longer :(

hey John aka Mopar Muscle,

This is Shanti , sorry Stef, dont have my own membership,

The slicks look soo dumb, but helps a great deal. Bill has decided to humor stef. and set truck up tomorrow for a little play time at the local track,

John, Bill and I have been talking seein as how it is our fault that the boy is spinnin as he stated, maybe we should take away his slicks , um, relieve him of that 93 % tc, and definately park the injectors, what say you, he should hook then dont you think? lol

Shanti Kondolay

aka , your mama young fella(Stefan that is)

PS John Triebel

if you are readin this, definately Mexican food and Marigaritas

who owes who? mm? i gotta think about that one(lol)

Shanti,

If you remember, that youngster (Stefan) had a very short comment a few weeks ago about drag racing: "Who needs lockup?" Maybe he doesn't need all those other goodies to make him go fast either. After all his name starts with the letter "S". Make him a shirt with a big red "S" on the chest and let him fly.

:D :D :D

Stefan and MoparMuscle -

I "might" be going to the track next weekend, can you give "directions" on the best launch technique y'all use? What boost you build upto before launch? With the 91% converter, I picked up some turbo lag over stock, so trying to relearn how to drive it now.

Hey Shanti,

Bill was wondering if those supermentals would react the same in a stick truck... maybe you outta send 'em my way. I'll thoroughly test them out. (yeah,I know that's a pipe dream!):D:D

I hear there's a test and tune at SIR this Sunday,so I'm thinking of going.

-Mike

kat , stand on the break and bring it up to about 1300 rpm , 5 psi boost , no more or your going sideways in a haze of white and black smoke :D:D .

try it a few times before the track just to get a feel for it .

as far as launch , as soon as the 3rd amber comes on mat it and off the break , you'll need to play with this to not red light , but if you wait for the 3 ambeer to come on you should see a . 7 light , takes practice .

if bill wasn't watching i'd tell you how to go still a half sec faster using that lever sticking out of the floor and launching with 15psi ... weeeee :D:D:D
