i am in the planning stages of a set of twins for my truck.

i have a usb1 from bell and Pius i want to use as the small charger. mostly cause its new and i cant afford to throw it away.

i have made a few calls on the plumbing of it, but that is it.

i am curious as to what you guys think would work for configuations. the usb and... . what? i am doing this with drag racing in mind as well as retaining daily drivablity. i gotta do this right the first time. cant afford to back track on this project.

does anyone know of anyone running a usb1 in a twins get up? if so how is it working out, or can you get me in touch with them?

well thanks, and if i need to descibe the truck i will do that for you.

I had one of the original B1's in which the usb1 is based on on my truck for 2 yrs in a twin setup combined with a 3b and it worked pretty good for sled pulling--I don't get to the race track that often to comment on a racing scenario, but there's no reason it wouldn't work--go for it--chris

i am pretty much stuck with the ht3b do to its cost affectivness. now with your set up what size housing did you run on your ht3b?

i am stuck on weather or not to try and find one with a 22 housing or the regular ole 26 housing.

what kind of fuel where you running to it? boost numbers? depending on which housing you had would of liked to of had the other? also how did you have the whole get up wastegated? how did you have the drain/return line on the lower charger set up?

i know that is a lot of questions, but i have been waiting for someone to answer so i could ask them..... sorry it was you ;) but on a serious not i would really appreciate it if you wouldnt mind answering them.

the thing that gets me the most confused is how to properly wate gate these things. the way i understand it is that for the most part you can get away with half a$$ing it, but what is the RIGHT way to do it? and where do those parts come from?

if you do take the time to answer these questions... . thanks :D

if you would mind and you have any could you pm me some pictures. thanks again.

Nick

I don't have the 3b anymore, but I'm pretty sure it was the 26 housing--

system was not wastegated--

17-18 psi pretty much full time. punched hole in bottom of fuel tank. . -10an lines thru an Aeromotive prefilter to an Aeromotive 1000 pump. -8an lines to a Racor filter, -8an to an Aeromotive regulator, -8an to VP44 and -8an return to tank--

79psi

knocked out freeze plug an inserted a Cummins oil return part--on some 12v you will have to drill a hole in the side of the oil pan and weld in the return--

does the usb1 come with a waste gate--if so use it--if not add a waste gate to the exhaust manifold and dump it into the hot pipe--this will help spool the big turbo without overworking the usb1--you can add blow off valves also in the intercooler pipe--

not sure about pics--there are probably some on the internet somewhere with this setup--chris

thank you sir,

have you looked at the picture of the twins get up piers has on a stand? its on his website. kills me. looks simple but i know it isnt. the hot pipe looks like it would be that hardest thing to fab.

in the little calling around i did about fabbing the plumbing. wow is all i have to say. its gotta be a royal pia to get these things in there, and take a lot of shop time. even if turbos are supplied.

now with the waste gate on the little turbo. doesnt that make it hard to control as a whole? like which turbo is doing "x" amount of the load. you know what i am saying, cause all that i would know is what the psi is inside the manifold right? i was looking on the turbonetics website they have some fancy pants wastegates on there. now with wastegates do you get what you pay for like most other things?

oil feed i can T off the original right?

now the lower charger hangs off the upper by the hot pipe. is that all that is holding it there? or is it supported else where? i have never seen a set up in person. the best picture i can find is the one on the stand that piers has on his site.

anyhow i really do appreciate your taking the time to answer those.
