Well I ran the truck at the Moroso Mopar & Chrysler show, got there late so only got three runs but the best one got me a 15:52 @ 86. 56 m. p. h. quarter mile. I guess not too bad in 90 F heat, time for phase two.
I didnt notice the boost at launch ( my bad I know thats important ) but the rpm was about 1300 - 1400 trying not to spin , I really didnt get enough runs to try different launch techniques.
What was your 60' time on the 14:90 pass, was that on stock radials. Mine was a 2. 25 on the stock radials. Did you lock your converter for the run ? I didnt.
My best ET is 16. 14 , best MPH is 83. 5 , best 60 ft is 2. 27. I think your truck is right where it should be . It doesn't hurt to keep trying though.
Ok your 1. 9 60' explains the difference in our ET's plus the 45 F temp. I race a Grand National Buick and I know at 3,500 lbs. a tenth quicker 60' will give you two tenths quicker qtr. ml. with a much heavier truck I would imagine the gain would be greater. Anyone try slicks on these beasts..... that would be nasty..... plus probably break stuff..... cool. A guy at the track once said : if you aint breakin stuff, you aint racing hard enough dont know if I completely agree with that one.
well wayne , that 45 i thought was a big helper , , not anywhere near 100 , but i went to the track , think it was in the 70's and i went 14. 56 ... of course i had changed to the 93% TC and had dd3's ... best so far is 14. 38 ... no slicks
yes there are those that have run slicks , no broken parts yet that i know of , but thats whats keeping me off slicks , i know i'll break something ... i witnessed a 1 ton 4x4 do a 1. 66 60 foot on slicks
Devildog when you go let me know, im always at Moroso I race a Grand National Buick. All I have to do is unhook the car trailer and im ready to go. I think you should get low 15's with a decent 60'
