Hey, can anyone tell me where the drain-back valve is? Does the pump have to be removed to replace/repair it?

My ruck is hard to start after sitting for a few hours :{ , but only if I park it nose up or level... :( If I get it even slightly nosedown, it starts like a champ. Even after weeks of being parked  I have replaced all the lines to the pump, replaced all the orings in the lift pump, new fuel filter, and anything else I could think of. I have read a few posts about the drin-back valve and this sounds like it is my problem. Anybody got any ideas?

I'm guessing you are talking about the overflow valve. It is on the top/front of the injection pump. Not real hard to replace, remember to take the bolt out of the fuel line bracket on the rear of the injection pump. I got my new valve from precision diesel 517-694-1522. A year ago the cost was $25, two new gaskets (required) $1 each, tax and shipping came to $35. 62 It won't look like the old one, but it is a Bosch repl part.

update..

I think I have found my problem. The overflow valve seems to have a slight leak around the copper base gasket when running, which means it has to leak air when it is shut off. Part numbers anyone?

I don't have the PN's handy for the gaskets but just for reference the overflow valves from the above source have increased in price to $35

The number I have written down for the rubber coated washers are PIN 4761245. Let me know if you find out that its not right.

Might have to talk with an injection shop to find the copper gaskets. Maybe piers or scheids? can help?
