Jim,
This is how I do it. I remove the rear cooler line, then attach a hose to it. One that will fit over the end of the line. Start engine and allow the engine to idle in "nuetral" until the fluid starts to spit, then shut off engine. Now you can remove the pan without getting fluid all over the place! Once the pan is off, you can then loosen the bolts on the VB, or even take it off and allow the fluid to drain. It would be nice if you could let it set over night. This way you will get most of the fluid out.
