I think the DC cost also includes the hardware/software to update the DRB with a PC and three years of monthly update DVD's.

They are $3,800. 00 from SPX miller, its $2,200. 00 for the subsricption from DC, the software belongs to DC you lease it, One of those tool on ebay sold for $4,500. 00 without the subsricption. $700. 00 over SPX New.

I don't understand the subscription thing? DC no longer uses the DRB for new vehicles so the latest software on a DRB would also be the last software it will have.

It must be for 2200. 00 you buy the right to use the software. Subscribing or leasing implies future updates included which they have no plans for as I understand.

So 4500. 00 with installed software would be a good buy looks like.

As the new STAR Scan does not talk to the most of the older protocols still used in some vechicles the DRBIII still is getting updates issued for these systems. I just installed a update in my unit last month.
