Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) DRB scan tool equivilant

Anyone out there know where I can get a scan tool that will tell me everything... . I just call the stealership and they want 90 bucks just to hook it up!!!

Options are endless... . prices range from $150 to $2000.



In an effort to help diagnose a "no Bus" condition on my truck, I made a mad dash to Autozone last night. I purchased a unit made by Actron... model #CP9145... paid $275. Supposedly this unit will not only display/reset codes but it'll capture real time data. Unfortunately I haven't put it to use yet but will do so tonight.



One other thought... I know Autozone's have a scan tool for use by customers... only downside in my area is that it must be done in the morning when a certain employee is on duty (other downside is that your truck must be running well enough to drive it to the local store)... cost is free.

Well so far I've downloaded my codes and was able to reset the codes..... that works great. Will need to play with the real time data acquisition stuff next...
