Hello out there TDR land! Just did my right front axle seal, which has been weeping for a while now and recently turned into a full blown leak. I checked out the website everyone has been posting concerning this and came to a few of my own conclusions. First of all, there's a Miller tool available to do the entire axle seal replacement for the Dana 60 equipped trucks, which I got for around 40 bucks from my local Mopar supplier. It consists of a threaded rod which has a cup that fits into the outboard tube, and another cup which fits into the seal and you use it to pull the seal into place from the outside. No muss, no fuss. You don't have to drop the carrier or the intermediate shaft, either to do the right side. For the left side, by design, you have to drop the carrier, but the tool remains the same. There's just enough room from inside the vacuum control for the 4WD to get the old seal out, clean it up, and pull in a new seal. Those with minimal technical ability can conquer this in their driveway. I read in a post that the dealers were getting 150-200 bucks for this. You can get it done for far less with one other person helping you. You do need two people if you really don't want to take the chance scuffing the new seal. All else on the seal replacement website was informative and it helps to print out the pics and have them at your side when doing this for the first time.
