Interesting Chicago Story...

Who is Jerry Rigg

You guys asked me to keep you up to date on my Garage so here goes.

For masons, I have been paying the guys that work for the neighbor to work on Saturdays.

First it kept raining and we could not get into the hole to work. (even had a 10 yard cement truck buried to its axles)

then one day it stopped raining (back in June) and turned 98 deg every day, and I could not get anybody to show up to work on weekends. Finally things are moving again. Only about 20 more block to go!

Next week they pore concrete into the pilasters, then I can order steel! , pore the top floor then build the wood frame top garage!

Pictures will be coming quicker once the block work is done, I hope

This monsoon weather pattern were having makes working conditions a bit of a challenge. Glad to hear your making progress. I need to have my excavator in to finish around my barn but don't want to take a chance on disturbing my somewhat stable site. We started sealing the wood inside but had to stop that for the humidity. That leaves me with finishing the electrical. I need to pick up a bunch of PVC tomorrow.

Towpro, nice garage, i wish i had a two car instead of my 1 car. i used to do poured concrete walls and foundations in pittsburgh and we could do a whole house in 2 days if we really busted it. Someday i dream of having a garage that will hold my truck along with whatever else i have. Also, i just did a 106ft long wall at work (actually a pit) and we filled the cells of the blocks and pilasters with concrete and it is rock steady. also has durawall and rebar from the footer. your foundation should be plenty strong.
