My semi annual weather rant

Pulling this thread back up just to say....as much as I complain during the winter around here, there are those days that are the exception. Right now on December 12th, sitting outside on the porch. 68 degrees at almost 9:00 in the evening. Winter seems to have forgotten us.....at least for now.

I new you guys north of me were getting rain this summer but some how the man I bought pumpkins from last year managed to get dry ones in this year. Said they were from PA. He did get one load of wet ones but don't know where they were from. He brought some out of Michigan also. A few other wholesalers had wet pumpkins also.

As far as our weather we were in the 90's since May (over 100 degree heat index) all summer and most of fall. In Nov. we dropped to the 70's for a few days but jumped back to the mid 80's. I think were expecting another cold front that will put us back down in the 70's, thank goodness I'm tired of 9 to 10 months of summer temperatures.

I actually came down your way twice toward the end of last summer. My wife just loves the St. Augustine area, so we spent quite a few weeks in and around that area.


I'm not sure where the pumpkins came from, but I doubt it was from the western part of PA. It was so wet here all season that almost everything was effected. Corn and hay were hit especially hard.

Accuweather forcast was for 3-6 inches total by Sunday morning. Um.

I measured around 8:00 and we had 16" of fresh snow over night. No end in sight at this point. I hope you don't get hit this hard.

Hey! You expect them to be accurate on a big storm like this? Our guys can't get the lake effect models right, and they study them all the time :-laf

Look on the bright side, at least you can't drown in it! I've got family near Wildwood and the latest from them is coastal flooding and 65+mph winds. They've got a long ways to go before the worst is over.

Yea, I should know not to believe them. The funniest thing yesterday was the weather guy from channel 4 claiming that the snow wasn't starting until 7:00 and the live reporter on TV was covered in snow during the noon forcast.

This was a couple hours ago. They are saying it'll snow till tomorrow morning.
It's real windy, tough to say how much it really is.

My wife loves to razz me about how much I used to love Winter, and would plow snow all night so we could open the store in the morning. Now, I complain when it gets below 50. Good luck fellas, and stay safe.

I had to shovel a snow drift out of the way to hitch up a TT in Casper a couple days ago. There is a reason I retired in TX. I don't feel snow deprived at all.:-laf

weather here in PA Has just been so ODD the past few yrs, today I got 28 inches, went from NO snow more or less all winter to a BIG dump of the white stuff
BUT I like snow, so not complaining, I just wish we wouldn;t get so much at ONE time

a little every few days all winter is better for me! LOL
