ask them what brand rotor they use... and research the brand...

I had bought ones for my Camaro that were a no name brand and had problems with them, they glazed pretty bad and eventually developed crackes between some of the drilled holes, I replaced them with ones from Summit and the problems went away... I don't remember who I bought the cheap ones from. .

If you want to buy the cheaper ones see if you can get them without the holes, just the slots... I put cheap ones on my CJ that just have slots, they work fine...

Three letters...

EGR!

Got Brakes?

I did on my second gen and will buy them again for my 3rd gen. I just can't say enought about EGR slotted rotors and pads...

Cheers, Bill

I second BILLUA's reccomendation for EGR brakes/ I installed them on 2 second Gen trucks and WOW! they would throw you thru the windshield until you got used to them. The slotted rotors were great. With heaviness of our trucks you really don't want cross-drilled rotor, removes to much metal from the rotor. The slotted ones work fine and removes the gasses generated by the pads as they pass the brake shoe (kinda like a windshield wiper effect).

I wouldn't run drilled rotors but slotted is ok. Brembo is a quality rotor, the next time I need a set that is what I will be buying.

I bought Napa's premium drilled and slotted rotors and experienced less braking effectiveness I think due to less actual surface area due to the holes. You can get Powerslot rotors w/Performance Friction pads for $248. 00 through 4 wheel parts. I don't know about 3rd gen applications. Somebody else posted here about selling them also.

I put on EBC dimpled/slotted rotors on the front and got some custom slotted rotors for the rear on my Dakota, with EBC SUV Supreme Pads 7000 series on the front and EBC Supreme 6000 series on the rear and am very satisfied. The slots "wipe" the pad and the pads are kevlar/carbon, NOT metallic which glaze up like crazy, not to mention ruin your wheels.

If I get the '05 Ram 2500, I'm considering swapping out the factory pad immediately for the EBC's, I like them so much. Also, I noticed a huge improvement in wet weather braking with the slotted rotors, again due to the "wipage. "
