Where is the best location in the elbow for the temperature probe installation? I was considering placing it so it sticks straight out the top.
Anything to look out for before I disassemble it? Any bolts or gaskets to replace?
Is the elbow tough to drill and tap?

Except for early '94s, the elbow has a boss on the passenger side with a dimple in it. Mostly because of clearance, you should remove it first. 13 mm heads on the exhaust pipe bolts, 7/16" or 11 mm nut on the band clamp.

Tim, when I drilled mine out I removed the elbow from the system and went directly into the top of the ellbow. Plenty of room, easy removal and reinstall,no leaks to worry about because of the type of factory fittings. Hope this helps.
