Since the 04's have no overdrive signal, im assuming that Tow/haul is the same thing. . I used to drive my 98 with overdrive off until 55-60 mph. Are the 04's the same, or should i drive with overdrive on?

Normally I run with the OD on around time and on the highway. Only time I turn it off is if I have a heavy load on the trailer then when I get up to 60 or so I turn it back on unless I have a big hill to climb.

I agree with L. Shultz. I use the OD unless I am driving around town under 35MPH or towing my 5th wheel on a long or steep grade. Then I use the Tow/Haul feature.

Yeah, I would agree with the consensus. The tow/haul verbiage is the same as OD on/off IMHO. I also read a post on DTT's website, where Bill K. said the same rules apply to the 48RE as the 47RE. (Higher RPM's and No lugging mean better lubrication and a cooler trans temp).

I use the OD off myself driving around town 95% of the time, keeping the RPM around 1500 or a little above. Maybe it's not all that necesary with out a load though, I don't know. With OD on the RPM's will hang around 1200 or so making me feel like it could be lugging the engine. When it gets up to around 2000 or 2100 RPM I usually turn it back on.
