Competition I Dragged and Pulled today....

Okay, next thing on my list to do on my truck is drive shafts. Pretty much going to have to be custom seeing I am running the GM 11. 5AAM and running the cummins/6-speed/NV241DLD (still thinking of getting the larger case but can't figure out how to run my speedo off it!).

Anyway, Im going to need to some custom drive shafts! For pulling with over 600+ hp what kind of shafts are you all running? I am thinking running something fairly custom (stronger than stock) and have the u-joints as the weak link.

So whats everyones opinion. I have heard pro's and cons of both steel and aluminum but think for pulling steel is they way to go!

Thanks... RyanB

IMO, keep it steel, just upgrade to the rear to 1480 series U-Joints and the front to the 1410's. Non-greasable joints, larger International Carrier bearing any questions call Greensburg Machine in SledPullers neck of the woods.

Thanks Guys! These shafts sound good. Just out of couriosity though before I call. What kind of money would front and rear shafts cost for a quad-cab? I know mine will be more for the crew-cab.

Thanks. . Ryan
