ive had a slight vibration after i installed my 4. 5 lift. its caused my pinion seal to leak. i plan on replacing the seal but want to sqaure away the vibration so it doesnt happen again. does dodge make a spacer for my carrier bearing? if so what is the part number? if not, ill have to fab my own--how thick does it need to be? TIA :)

Just did a 3" lift on my 3500 4x4 and it had a shutter when leaving a stoplight. It was three in the front and 2 in the rear so it leveled the truck out at the same time. Ended up fabing the lowered carrier with a piece of 1"x2" square tube. Lowered the carrier by 1" and it cleared the problem right up.

Not sure if anyone makes one, really, really, surprised a 4. 5" lift did not come with one, that just seems odd to me.

How thick, since the carrier is about 1/2 the distance between trans and rear the spacer should be 1/2 the size of the lift, 2" should do it.

Good luck.

I found that 3/4"-1" worked on my 4. 5" lift. Remember, most lift kits do not raise the rear more than about 2". Also, I pulled a measurement of total angle change and went a little over half that angle. That way I did not cause another vibration at the transmission.

FWIW

There should have been a wedge shaped plate to go between the rear leaf spring and axle on both sides. The wedge corrects the pinion angle after the 4. 5" lift.

thanks ya'll...

az--no carrier bearing drop bracket was in the kit. its a SJ 4. 5". guess im sol.

dane--the wedges are installed--didnt help. i think im gonna fab something up tonight though. thanks for the advice. Oo.
