I have noticed that mine is starting to sag slightly, vehicle is 2001 1 ton 4x4 diesel, has anyone replaced the hinges on this vehicle. Thanks

More than likely it just needs new pins. Kind of a pain, but not too difficult. I used my engine hoist to hold the door up while I worked on the hinges.

Firefighter,

I replaced both upper and lower hinges on my 1998. 5 quad cab about a year ago. Bought the hinges from LMC Truck, http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/de/full.aspx?Page=11. Cost about $40 each and seemed to be very good quality. It's not a real easy job replacing the hinges. LMC also sells a repair kit that might work for you and be easier to install??

I used my engine hoist and some nylon straps to lift the door and remove it. I disconnected the electrical plug first. I found that I had to remove the door from the hinges first, then it's east to get at the bolts that bolt the hinges to the body. It's more difficult to get the bolts that screw from inside the body. The parking brake assembly has to be unbolted and swung out of the way and you have to reach up under the dash to get at the bolts that screw in from the inside. Before I removed the hinges from the body, and the doors, I marked the outline of the old hinges so I could bolt the new ones onto the body as close as possible in the right location. This is important, because once the door is mounted back on the truck, it's almost impossible to get at the bolts that bolt the hinges to the body, so these bolts have to be tightened real good before you attach the door. The door side bolts are easier to reach and there is some adjustment there too. I got lucky, the door lined up pretty good first try, with only some minor adjustment on the door side bolts. By the way, lay some old blankets or thin pads between the door and front fender so you don't damage the paint when jockeying the door around.

I hope these attachments work okay? My first time uploading pictures.

Can anyone tell me if the pass door hinge's are the same( 96 3500) as the left door. To me they look the same, But before I pull them to change out the worn out one's I would like to be sure. I know the pins will be upside down but they can be reversed.

Not too long after I got my truck I noticed the doors needed adjusting, if it was windy you couldn't even talk in the cab. Took it by a body shop I deal with and he had me fixed up in no time, just loosened the hinges up and moved the doors back up, been ok for over a year now. So your hinges may not need to be replaced.

I know how to do adjustment procedure . Done that many times over the years with trucks and cars and working in a body shop. I just want to know if they are the same. The spare one's I have are the same colour ( Blk)as my 96 3500 truck and if they fit then I will change them out. Then I will rebuild them and install on my other Blk 97 1500.

still waking up I think the lowers are the same the uppers are a L/R application if I recall right been awhile since I did mine, I found OEM.s on mopar 4 less and they were priced fair
