OK, I must first admit that I only use the truck about once every other week so I don't know how long it's been like this. The entire carpet on the driver's side is soaking wet (like a sponge). The driver's side seat mount is showing some surface rust/bubbling right where it meets the carpet so I think this has been a problem for a while.

Is this coming from the footwell vent and if so, how do I solve it?

TIA,

Mike O.

when I bought my truck I found I had tons of water coming in between the windsheild and the rubber, silicone fixes that, but I have some rust on the floor to fix. I have read of people with water coming in the kick panel vent, if you do a search I'm sure you can find how others have dealt with it.

The kick panel vent was leaking on my 93. Took it off and sealed it up. Took care of that leak but still had water in the floor area. Kept looking and finally discovered the rear cargo light was leaking BAD and the water was working its way to the front of the cab. Finally sealed the light with RTV and problem went away.

If you take the light off and look at the seal as well as the paint, you can see water streaks if it has been leaking. Hope its something as easy as this for you!:)

Oh yea, I forgot something. There is a rubber grommet about 2" diameter on the firewall, drivers side, that feeds wires into the cab. I have a lot of "extra" wires going thru this and the hole was getting ragged. Water can run down the firewall and into this grommet then onto the floor. To stop this without actually sealing up the grommet, I got a roll of SS tape and made a "raingutter" of sorts that I placed on the firewall above the hole. It takes the water off to the side of the hole and keeps it out of the cab.

Mine I had to pull the cowl off and the the drains underneath were filled with leaves/pine needles, so the water was runing right over the drains and into the vents. After cleaning them out haven't had a problem since.
