Drivers side door speaker for a 98

on my QC, the back speaker works, the door speaker does not work and the tweeter sounds crackly. I think the door speaker is shot but did not know if anyone had speaker problems that they fixed(something common like a wire problem etc. ). Also anyone know a good place to get a drivers side door speaker?? Are all year speakers the same??Thanks #ad

My drivers side door speaker has been out for months. I traced the wiring but found no problems. I think it's just crappy speakers.

Did you check wires/connections from Radio to speakers especially ground wires/connections.
Usually the material around magnet will have crack or tear in it if speaker is shot.
Also I have seen where the wires(very thin) going to material(speaker) broken.
Looking at 96 manual speakers are grounded thru radio.
Resistance of (+)and (-) connections on speakers is between 3 and 8 ohms.
My two door speakers are working great. In Past vehilces the door speakers were the first to go. I think this is caused by constant jolts(door closing)also better chance of moisture to get to them.

Where you'd get a new speaker depends on your sound system. If they're the ones with the attached amp that the Infinity sound system has I'd check all the junk yards in a 50 mi. radius. Those speakers are $200+ from the dealer. Just my $. 02
