Driver's Side Front Door Won't Unlock

I went to unlock my truck this evening using my remote keyless entry, and the front driver's side door wouldn't unlock. I then tried the key and it wouldn't unlock either. I had this problem before, about three months after I bought the truck and I took it in to the dealer. Of course it was under warranty, and that was a long time ago, so I can't remember exactly what the problem was. The door will open from the inside, so I'm not locked out, but it's a pain in the rear. Anyone have any ideas?

It's happened to me twice. the dealer needs to replace the lock solenoid.

replace the latch/lock assy... ... ... it is one piece.

Same thing happened to me two weeks ago. But the door would not unlock from the inside either. You could open it from the inside but it would not stay unlocked. I thought it was the latch assembly, dealer quoted $150 so I took it in. They replaced the Solenoid and it cost me $140. Works great now.

Joe, mine was the same way. It would open from the inside, but it wouldn't stay unlocked. Same thing happened at 5,000 miles and the dealer fixed it, but I couldn't remember what exactly it was. I took it in this morning, and the dealer also quoted me $150. I asked them if this was something I could expect every two years, and the lady said she doesn't see to many of these come in for this problem. I just hope it's not something I have to deal with every so often. Thanks for the responses!

Add me to this list. Mine died this morning in the rain at the doctor's office with my 6 month old. In the rain. Trying to get in touch with the dealer now.



Edit: Truck has 75000+ miles on it.

Add me also. My drivers door will not unlock with remote, or power switch on inside of door. Cannot even pull the lock up manually. The only way I'm able to unlock is with the inside door handle. it stays locked all the time. I even tried pulling the fuse & still couldn't manually pull the lock up. So would this be the actuator or the latch assembly?
