2006 DRW Ram 3500 brake problem/advice needed

I am sorry if this has been discussed on here before but I could not find the answer to my problem. I have a 2005 3500 4x4 and the drivers side rear blinker is not working. The drivers side front is working and the passengers side both front and back work properly. When I turn on the drivers side the indicator on the dash blinks fast and the front blinks and the lamp out is illuminated on the dash. I have checked the bulb with an ohm meter and also replaced with a bulb that I know works and still nothing. I have also replaced the tail light circuit strip and this still does not help. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

I would next check with a test light or ohm meter if you have power to the power strip at the light assembly. If you have a factory trailer plug then see if you get blinker to the pin in the socket. Check ALL wire loom junctions. I am not for sure on this but I think there is a plug junction for the truck bed loom. Follow the driver side frame rail. Look for any damage. Best way to check the whole circuit is from the tail lamp forward to the cab and switch. Let us know what you find.

Thanks for your suggestions however, I have checked at the tail strip plug and get 9 volts but that is with the blinker on and off but never anything close to 12 volts with the blinker on. I can get 12 volts with the brake light, tail light and backup lights when they are on at their respective spots. I have also checked at the trailer plug and I get proper volts and the blinker works at the trailer plug. I just have not had the time to trace the wire in the wire loom along the frame. That is next. Can some one tell me what the color code for the blinker wire would be. Or can you send me a link to the wire diagram. I will check to see if there is a wire loom for the truck bed but it will most likely not be until this coming weekend before I can get back to work on the truck. Thanks again for your reply.

9Volt is the Lamp-out check from the FCM.

Wasn't there something about burnt up prints in the FCM because of a to strong Fuse in the Trailer circuit 15A instead of a 10A?

The 03-05's use a Integrated Power Module (IPM) later trucks use a Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM). The IPM has the Front Control Module (FCM) attached to it and one of the functions of that module is to control the tail lights. The FCM controls the tail lights by imbedded, non replaceable, relays in the IPM which are prone to failure. Here is the repair procedure for replacing the relays by disassembling the IPM and soldering in new relays.

Thanks for the additional replies and additional information. As far as a wrong fuse if it is the wrong fuse it came from the factory that away as I have not had to replace any fuses since I purchased the truck new.

Thanks again,

Larry
