For you guy's running a driveshaft loop , did you have to custom make it or does someone make one that will fit around this huge aluminum driveshaft. Thanks for any info , one way or another i'll have to install one.

Coat Hanger

On my 93, I just made one out of a thick coat hanger. You know, one of those brass colored ones. It was hooked into one of the bed supports. The way I twisted in in there, it was never going to come loose. It was easily strong enough to hold a spinning driveshaft that falls out. It lasted about 5 years, and was still going strong when I traded in the truck. Good, cheap, low maintenance insurance.

PS. I love the prayer/statement at the bottom of that web site.

Sorry Crew Cab but that was funny, we should have a spell check symbol all the time.

I checked the NTPA rule book on coat hangers,(this does NOT apply to NHRA, or IHRA)

1. Driveshafts must be enased with 5/16 steel loops, 6"wide covering every U-joint, and then every 6" after that.

or a good, solid, wire coat hanger is sufficient, no plastic.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!

:D :D :D :D Oo. ;)

oops

Should have checked the forum before I chimed in. I still like my coat hanger, though!!! In fact, if the snow ever melts I'll put one on my 01.
