I have a 2006 2500HD Mega Cab 4X4 automatic. My drivetrain is vibrating, and at least one of the U-joints is starting to squeak (rear). Front shaft is shot and will be replaced. My question is: Will the one-piece rear driveshaft from a 2008 MegaCab fit my truck?? I have read that it will, and one of the posts even gave a DC part number. I can't find that particular post again, so can someone please point me in the right direction?? This two-piece-rubber-gromet-supported rear driveshaft is retarded. I'd rather spend money and fix (what I consider to be) a design DOH.

Thanks in advance for any and all help. :)

The part # the dealer gave me for an auto is 52123220AB. They quoted a price of $587 but you should be able to get it cheaper from Moparforless or one of the other online dealers. Let us know how it turns out?

New front shaft is in, and THIS one has the tiny grease fitting for the cardigan ball. Decided to wait on the one piece shaft until I do a few other things. 3 new Precision greasables went into the rear. Rear-most was falling apart, center and front were nearly dry. Hope you guys have torches, and not the wussy little propane ones either. Factory joints are held in place with PLASTIC that is injected into small holes in the yokes. I'm not sure what kind of plastic it is, but it took the big torch to set the old joints free. New joints went in easier, but still were the tightest fit I have ever seen. Be sure to torch all of the plastic out of the yokes before installing new joints, as it makes things go alot easier I always buy an extra joint, in case someone drops a cap and all the rollers escape to never-never land.
