I don't see why not a few 2nd gen member put one piece shafts on their trucks.

I had a 78 ford van regular size(12 pass) with 2 piece shaft but my 88 ford van extended size (15 pass) had a one piece shaft.

I had a one piece made for my 01... I installed a slip-yoke eliminator kit on the t-case output, had a local driveshaft shop build the shaft and found a flat bolt-together pinion flange for the dana 80 to get rid of using the u-clamp style flange... Cost me a pretty penny, but ended my problems of eating the middle u-joint, ripping out the intermediate driveshaft and destroying carrier bearings. Ended up selling the truck, and when I got my 07 I wanted a shortbed, with a one piece shaft

As long as you use a heavy enough tube so that it wont whip like a jump rope. A good shop will know what you need and also be able to balance it. Use grease-able U joints for long life. If it is a place that works on motor homes and delivery trucks they should be able to handle it in stride.
