I had originally thought that this was a power steering issue... but I now think that it's drivetrain noise.

When turning in gear, there is a groan that comes from the front end. If you drop out of gear in mid turn it stops. I can't figure out where it's coming from. But I know that it can't be good. :(

This started just 3 days after driving through high water in the Houston flood. I drove through water that was not quite to the doors. I have a pretty good feeling that this new groan has something to do with that.

Anybody else experienced this? Any ideas?

Truck only has 7000 miles on it.

Anytime you submerge your axles it's a good idea to drain and replace all the lube. Even though the axle vents are located higher up and don't go under water the rapid cooling of your differentials while under water has a tendency to draw water into your axles. Your vents should compensate by letting the axle breathe but they don't always work as well as they should.
