Went back home on leave this last couple weeks and moved my truck and drove it down the road and back. been sitting in storage almost a year now. Was a little worried about it starting but i hooked up the batteries and let the fuel pump kick on and psi up, and started right up. Boy sure do miss driving it. Got orders to Nas Jax will be heading back to the states in Dec, thank God. So we got it moved around were i have it stored so can get it out in Dec. Sure do miss the states You all know we have it good there that is for sure. Anybody have any concerns about storing for so long? I did jack up the front end and put on jack stands.

Regarding being away from the good ol US. You never really know how good till you have been away for a while, when I was in the service I was in an engineering and installation group, all we did was travel. When I was in Turkey we worked 7 days a week, 12 hours a day so we could finish the job and leave. The civilian crew chief with us was POed as he was getting big per diem per day. We were there for about 2. 5 months. Of corse when we were in Cocoa beach Florida it was a different story... .

Bertram65,

What unit? I was in the USAF and did 2 tours in 1827 EIS (7-1/2 years total). That plus 2-1/2 years in Greece and 6 years in Germany.

Yep. As much as we all complain about things, the USA is top dawg.

1839th E&I out of Keesler in MS. I was in from '84 to '88. My tech school was about 8 months long at Keesler also, so I was actally there for there the whole time except basic. Went all over the US and a couple times overseas. I was 304X0 wideband commmunications specialist.
