So the 16' is now deleted and has a small single event tune. The drivability is unbelievably better. It just drives right now. Honestly, I love driving the truck again. The single even tune makes it sound like I feel a diesel should. Sadly I also drove the 96' 12 valve this past weekend, and now it just isn't as special to me anymore. For the record, what I did was installed a Double R diesel programmed MM3 and literally used a 3-1/2" holesaw right down threw the cat and DPF. It took about 3 hours to do but was pretty clean overall. All the stock exhaust went back on and the truck from an exhaust standpoint is absolutely as quiet as stock. All the connector's plug in and the DEF gauge reads full. The only way from an appearance standpoint you can tell is that there not some soot in the tailpipe (inside, not on the truck) and the tailpipe was almost completely clean when stock. I did put a AFE intake strictly for sound as well. I'm sure it might actually hurt performance slightly but I just love the turbo whistle and it also made the exhaust brake sound much louder inside too! Other than that one piece, it is 100% stock appearing. The EGR is just "turned off" in the software but is still 100% intact. With the MM3, I can change the tune from a single event (12 valve sound) tune to a "quiet" (with standard pilot injection) tune if I want to but as for now in Florida, I'm not worried about anything emissions related. It doesn't smoke and the exhaust isn't loud. I'm sure I'll have no problems. I did want the option to quiet the engine down for when I'm out of state with the race trailer in not so emissions friendly states. Overall, the biggest thing is the drivability improvements. It just shifts right now but I'm 100% happy with the overall finished product! I literally would do nothing different.
