I need to use my truck without rear drive shaft for a couple errands tomorrow. Do I plug the hole with something or leave the slip yoke in. (wouldn't it fall out?) I have the seal and boot out and the outer edge is a bit bugered up, but I could probably tap it back in place.

I was going to replace my rear seal on the transfer case. I got it all apart and realized the parts guy gave me the wrong one. I have an appointment in the morning and then I need to get the right part.

Thanks

Just find a way to plug the hole and you'll be fine. I wouldn't put the yolk in for fear of it falling out. Perhaps the bottom of a soda bottle or the properly sized can could be installed and sealed with some duct tape. This is gunna be so redneck!!

The can idea was a stroke of brilliance. Oo.

I went into the kitchen and saw an empty Diet Coke can and it fits nearly perfectly. I need to crawl under and hammer the seal and boot back on and insert my new drip catcher. :-laf

My rusted out, cobbled together from scrap exhaust system was also removed so I could put in a straight section of pipe, so it will be down pipe only to complete the redneck/ghetto appearance. ;)

If you have free hubs. Lock them, and then you will have to push the truck to engage them... ... ... . I did this on an old Dorf I had chasing a vibration. I duct taped a bag over the t-case out put.

I drove all over town today. No exhaust except the down pipe and a pop can stuck in the transfer case. I meant to take a pic but forgot. :(

I go days or even a week or 2 never seeing a cop. Today I must've seen a dozen.

Two shops each gave me wrong seals. The dealer has one but wants $72 for it. I cleaned and greased the old one and will hit the road with it tomorrow after I connect the down pipe and tailpipe with a straight section of pipe.

I bet I have 4 of them here. Every trans bearing kit come with one and I rarely use them. I've never rebuilt a 2wd transmission! If you were close I'd give you a couple... .
